Interestingly, we have found that there are numerous common names for or associated with mud fever and mud fever types of symptom such as:
- Mud rash
- Scratches
- Greasy heel
- Cracked heels
- Dew poisoning
- Scabs or sore legs
- Pastern dermatitis
- Rain scald or rain rot if on the horse's back or body
- Lymphangitis or swollen legs
- cellulitis
